The MAXLUMI 8m Urban Road 3-in-1 Basic is an integrated smart streetlight system designed to be the cornerstone of modern smart-city development. Engineered specifically for urban road applications, this 8-meter pole combines high-efficiency LED lighting, advanced AI-driven surveillance, and public WiFi connectivity into a single streamlined unit. Going beyond simple illumination, it transforms the conventional streetlight into a multifunctional hub that enhances public safety, delivers digital services, and lays the foundation for future IoT deployments.
Structural integrity of the 8m Urban Road 3-in-1 Basic is critical, and the system is engineered to withstand harsh urban environments. The pole is fabricated from high-quality Q235 steel and hot-dip galvanized per ASTM A123. This treatment provides a protective zinc coating of more than 86 microns, delivering excellent corrosion resistance against atmospheric pollutants and moisture — ensuring more than 20 years of maintenance-free structural service life. The pole shaft has a 4.0 mm wall thickness and is designed to withstand wind speeds in excess of 150 km/h, suitable for installation across a wide range of geographies. The modular design allows secure attachment of various functional modules, while waterproof enclosures and IP66-rated connectors protect all electronics from dust and water ingress.
At the core of the system is a high-performance 100-watt modular LED luminaire. This lighting engine delivers an exceptional luminous efficacy of 170–190 lumens per watt, producing more than 17,000 lumens of clear, high-quality light. This represents up to 70% energy savings compared with a conventional 250 W High-Pressure Sodium (HPS) lamp. The luminaire offers an adjustable color temperature from 3000K (warm white) to 6500K (cool white), letting municipalities tune the lighting to specific environmental requirements or times of day and comply with dark-sky initiatives. Equipped with precision-engineered Type II/III optics, it delivers an illumination distribution optimized for urban roads, with a recommended pole spacing of 30 meters that ensures uniform lighting, minimizes light pollution, and improves safety for pedestrians and vehicles. The complete luminaire assembly is certified to IEC 60598, and LED performance is validated to IEC 62722.
The 3-in-1 Basic configuration integrates three essential smart-city functions:
AI-Driven Surveillance: One of the key features is the integrated 4K AI-driven camera. This Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) unit delivers comprehensive situational awareness with 20× optical zoom for detailed inspection, and a powerful 50-meter infrared (IR) night-vision capability. An onboard edge-computing processor enables real-time AI analytics — including detection of people, vehicles, and objects — without depending on cloud bandwidth. This local processing capability enables immediate incident detection (traffic violations, unauthorized stops, accidents) and can trigger automatic alerts to the central management system. This proactive security measure transforms the streetlight from a passive infrastructure asset into an active guardian of public safety.
Public Connectivity: To meet the needs of a connected population, the pole is equipped with a carrier-grade WiFi 6 (802.11ax) access point. This powerful AP can support more than 500 concurrent users, providing fast, reliable internet access in public spaces. It serves as a key digital amenity for residents and visitors, supports municipal field workers, and can offload data traffic from cellular networks in congested areas. The system uses 4G/5G cellular and LoRaWAN for backhaul and sensor-data communication, ensuring robust, redundant connectivity for all integrated modules.
Centralized Control: A smart Power Distribution Unit (PDU) manages the entire system, providing per-module energy metering and remote on/off control. This lets operators monitor the status and energy consumption of each component — the LED, camera, and WiFi AP — independently. A central controller acts as the brain of the pole, coordinating the function of all modules and communicating with the city's central management platform. This granular level of control is essential for optimizing energy use, scheduling maintenance, and responding efficiently to faults.
The system fully complies with international standards including IEC 60598 (luminaires), IEC 62722 (LED performance), EN 50556 (smart poles), ASTM A123 (galvanization), and EN 40 (lighting poles), ensuring reliability, safety, and performance over a 25-plus-year design life.
